Interesting and timely note as we are seeing relatively high traffic levels from Office Communicator i.e. over a 1 month period nearly as much traffic for Communicator as for Exchange. Can you give any guidance on the "added" amount once integrated with Exchange i.e. is it 50% more ? Secondly, is there anyway to reduce this ammount (note we run in Cached mode)

The added amount will vary greatly by deployment, I don't
have specific numbers I can give out.

If you disable fetching calendar data in Office Communicator,
this will reduce the traffic.  However, you will no longer have
the benefit of calendar data to drive your Presence state and
publish OOF Note to other contacts.

You can disable the fetching of calendar data in Communicator
by choosing a PIM other than Outlook under "Tools/Options/Personal"
